"I finally had my first experience with Drained and I gotta say, it's one of my new favorite pingames. Over the course of the past several days, I was fortunate enough to have a P3 in my garage for a short visit. I had access to every playfield module, but the one I kept coming back to, time-after-time, was Drained. There's a wonderfully simple ruleset (hit two standups to qualify the vampire, then sink it in the gobble hole to slay it), but an enticing system of risk/reward-based rules to encourage you to play past that, including combos, multiballs, multipliers, mini-games, wizard modes, and more.
One of the most notable experiences I had during my play time was the feeling of ANTICIPATION! I was on the edge of my seat with each shot, a feeling I get with some of the golden era woodrails designed by Wayne Neyens where you have multiple ways to beat the game but they're all portioned so perfectly that a game typically leads you right up to the threshold, but most of the time it's NOT QUITE achievable. And when you do achieve it...WHAT A RUSH! Those were the ultimate in "ONE-MORE-GAME" games and Drained is dripping with that!
In addition to its gameplay being fun, so are its theme and call-outs with a wide-ranging cast of quirky vampires to slay, from Sneaky, Speedy, Hairy, Swanky, and my favorite "Numerology" to name BUT A FEW (there are 3x as many vampires than those I named), and all of them keep the humor value high throughout the game. It's a nice contrast to the edge-of-your-seat gameplay.
As an artist myself, I'm gobsmacked at the Edward Gorey influenced details, the smart incorporation of vampire elements into various levels of playfield, plastics, and back panel, as well as the inordinate amount of work to create all the visuals for all the surfaces we've come to know with art on a pinball machine (playfield, plastics, backglass, cabinet, etc) IN ADDITION to all the on-screen animated elements! Molly's efforts here would truly require the work of multiple artists on any other production game, but the fact that they all come from the same hand gives the game a cohesive and immersive quality not often seen in modern pinball.
Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention the work of Charles Wolf, who created over 50(!??!) original songs for Drained, along with a mountain of sound effects, all with consideration of the 1300+ callouts from 17 hired voice actors. Sit with those stats for a moment if you would. What a tour de force achievement, and to make things more impressive, the music is really great, too. Ha-ha! Charles has a classical training with a Master's degree in Music Composition, yet a strong affinity for retro, 8-bit, chiptune music. These combination of interests and game theme all Voltron together to form such jaunty, classically inspired, period-perfect, vampire-evocative music with an upbeat, modern/retro flair to impeccably propel gameplay.
In spite of having access to many titles (all of them on the P3), I found myself coming back to play Drained first thing in the morning, as time permitted throughout the day, and for one last hit before I went to bed at night. If I'm ever fortunate enough to own a P3, this'll be the first module I get. What an enjoyable rush every time!"

"The mechs are simple- [a bell, a knocker, two sets of drop targets], two ball ejects, a pop bumper, lots of stand ups, and a gobble hole. You need to hit as many targets as possible before shooting the gobble hole which ends your turn, but can reward you with big points if you have hit the right targets. Music, animation, and theme are really well executed [and] light shows are great.
I ordered my game and three days later it arrived. Great packaging and a beautiful professional looking module which worked flawlessly right out of the box.
This game is very addictive. If you are looking for a modern game with an E.M. feel- this is it. The gobble hole is easy to hit when you don’t want to, and so difficult when you are ready to slay the vampire. This layout will really test your shooting skills. Find one if you can, be nice to the owner, and you can play one of the best new games of 2023!"
